I really need to get back into the habit of talking to you all again so sorry on my part but I care for you all and seriously hope to be able to talk more and draw more... It's really depressing me actually. Anywho...

~ The Haunted house is...CANCELLED! The fire marshal didn't approve of the building we were supposed to be located in. I guess my Halloween night just free'd up! Whoot!

~ My quartet is awesome. Enough said. We're playing this piece in February but this IS NOT my group performing it.

Events in life tend to hit home hard when you're a teenager. So much has happened since my last journal and Ill admit that I had the time to write and update sooner but the mood didn't suit writing in a journal.

My last journal told that I was on my way to San Francisco and then on to Santa Cruz. I fully enjoyed my trip and the beach. There isn't much else to say.

Well school started for me at this point and it ended up that three of the electives I wished to take namely choir, orchestra and human biology were all offered in only one period and that period happened to be the same one. So needless to say I wasn't happy with my schedule. I rearranged it and am now taking AP Biology instead of Human Bio which is much harder than the Human Bio class but it'll be good for me. Anyways, I was supposed to take eight classes this year and now I only have six. Ah well, less work no longer seems that way to me.

And I went to Hawaii for a week. there's so much I could say about it but a highlight was going swimming with some goggles on looking at colorful fish and being surprised by a huge sea turtle. I was able to pet her and everything. I wasn't fully satisfied with Hawaii simply because I had an ideal in my head and not the actual experience. The water wasn't crystal blue and the beaches weren't sandy. The main island isn't the place to go for those things so make sure to go to Maui if you're looking for them!

And more school and this past weekend I went to watch some hot air balloon and woke up at 3 a.m.

One last note. I'll be playing in my school's powder puff game. If you don't know what a powderpuff game is it's a game in which girls play the football and the guys dress up as cheerleaders and cheer for the girl players. I don't enjoy football but I love a good game and I should enjoy myself. The girls play against one another from the same school, typically two different grades. Since I'm a Junior we'll be playing the Seniors. Usually the Seniors win but who knows, I'm there for the fun and the distraction from loads of homework.

So that's basically where I've been as of late...
Lots of stress and spots of slight depression here and there but going on day by day and trying and succeeding at being busy.

 Luna

Music

~ Well I guess this fits under music. The orchestra and band at my school are putting on a Haunted house. In previous years I've been away at soccer tournaments and haven't been able to help out at all! So this year I'm rather excited for that and I hope to scare a few people. Anyways, this is unrelated to Orchestra but I'm having a party afterward that is expected to last all night long. This is mainly for my puppy's (dog's) first birthday party. I'm a whacky dog lover so yes I'm throwing her a party/Holloween party since she was born in the middle of the night on Holloween a year ago. Man, time flies.

~ Well My quartet is managing to master Devorak's American quartet. At this point just the second movement which is purely beautiful. If you get a chance listen to it. The viola part contrasts with the rest of it and is just so beautiful I can't stop humming it. We'll be performing in a competition in February so we have plenty of time to work on polishing it up and on starting other movements.

She has been a dear friend of mine for a very long time and I have to say that I've always been slightly jealous of her artwork growing up. She's also a killer drum player and will most likely steal your kneecaps. She doesn't get the attention she deserves here on DA so go check her out and say hello!

Busy End of my Summer

Thu Aug 6, 2009, 11:06 PM

I'm currently on my way to San Fransisco and then on to Santa Cruz in the morning/afternoon. It's just a trip to see some friends and get away from the house which I have to say is a fabulous thing (and I just love beaches) For those of you familiar with he area, I'll be going to the boardwalk. It's basically a theme park right on the beach. So a quick swim and then rides I suppose. I've been once before. =) I really can't wait.

Oh, I'll also be in Hawaii from the 20th to 25th and I'm predicting I won't be anywhere near a computer but then again since school starts on the 17th I may have homework.

I'll be updating this journal as I do more this weekend. ^^

Oh and, of course... HAPPY BIRTHDAY DA!!!! I seriously love this website and everyone on it! Love you guys!

Well let's see... My mom and I have thus far picked over 50 cups of blackberries this year and we only went out on two occasions. It's pretty good thus far. My mom makes Jam to give away and during the holidays we make crumbles and scones with them so we like to have lots. hehe, we also have battle wounds from those bushes, nice and scratched up.

It has been rather hot here but much less fires unlike last year which has been great. It was about 110 degrees today so I was inside for most of it. The day before I was at the lake.

AND! My summer classes out at the college are almost over! My U.S. History class finishes up this weekend and then I have another two weeks for my English 1A and I'm DONE! Very excited about this. Mayhap I'll have time to draw something again...

“My mind tells me to give up, but my heart won't let me.” ~?

Well my fourth of July weekend has been great. I spent it with a close friend of mine in the mountains (at his summer home). From watching fireworks and taking long walks at night to spending a day at the beach, not to mention bike riding...I'm Exhausted!

We went to a resort to watch the fireworks from the gold course (there were tons of people)and we got there early so we had a great spot to see them from. We ate there and the food wasn't too great but I drew for a bit and read from The Memory Keeper's Daughter so it was pleasant overall. It just got cool enough for me to almost need a sweatshirt as well which was amazing considering the 100+ Fahrenheit where I live. Hence why I love being up here hanging out. The firework show wasn't the best but it was as my friend says...shit-tasktic. It wasn't worth the wait but it was fun to just hang out.

The lake was pretty much amazing. We took a canoe around the lake which was tiring especially going against the wind. we stopped it out in the middle and drifted for a bit as we looked around and read for a bit on the water. We then caught up to his mom and brother in a paddle boat so we took the Canoe to shore and swam out to them. paddling for a bit and getting sun burnt a little bit... anyways. There was a series of blow-up equipment to play on in the water for a small fee. We decided to try it out...One of the structures was an "iceburg" 20 feet above the water that you have to literally climb up; similar to rock climbing but with a slick surface so it was difficult the first time up but from there it was alright. the life vests we were forced to wear made it a lot harder. So jumping off that was fun and strenuous but not nearly as bad as the teeter totters. They were such a pain to get on. We managed it once. So many people laughed at us. Basically the floating rocker is above our heads in the water (we were chest deep in the water)and with one of us on each side we counted to three and both tried to hop onto it and swing our legs over at the same time to it would be balanced...We failed this about 50 times and each of those times we flipped over or fell off so it was good fun. We finally got on it and rocked it so crazily that we flipped again. We defeated the monster so we felt fine leaving at that point.

Oh, my ankle also became mysteriously bloody when I was walking on the beach. the water was cold so I didn't feel it but I wasn't sure where the cut came from, lots of blood for such a small thing.

The moonlit walks were incredible. We went to a little park near their house (usually where I've played soccer in the past) and sat on the swings looking at the nearly full moon. It would have been a romantic moment for a couple but none the less no couples around. Haha. My friend and I tend to go see horror films together so we decided to come up with our own horror story there and it was quite interesting. We left the swings and walked to a marsh (there was a boardwalk) and that area was stunning under the moonlight, seriously. But on our way back we had to go through a field with sprinklers on so of course we ran and I yelped when the cold water hit me but it was fun.

Yeah and now I'm tired though I haven't really finished this yet...oh well. Maybe an update later with a feature and whatnot.

Still Busy

Yes I'm still busy with everything and I don't really regret it. I haven't really posted anything lately and I don't expect that to really change. Just updating.

Books you should check out

The Sword of Truth Series
Written by Terry Goodkind
This series contains twelve novels about Richard Rahl, a woodsman that finds himself leaving his home to help explore who he really is, and to save the world. For over three thousand years there hasn't been a wizard with both additive and subtractive magic until Richard. Now with the world falling apart, and magic slowly beginning to die out, the world needs Richards help.
These books really get you thinking about how you live your own life. There are plenty morals in them that are hidden under the surface of commonality. This is my all time favorite series. You should read them! I'm currently struggling to read Confessor...I don't want the story to end...=(

Wizard's First Rule
Stone of Tears
Blood of the Fold
Temple of the Winds
Soul of the Fire

Bleed no reflection
Upon the waters that you fear
Make things happen

Accept no resignation
For some life has been cruel
You have set the mood

Thinking about you... Luna

Lay the serpent's egg
In this world of make believe
And make things real

My seed of a lunacy
Was a sign made to resist
A mood set from birth

Thinking about you... Luna

Show me your moon burns
Take me as the moon burns
The freezing moon
Making things real for me
The killing Moon
Making things happen for me

Luna - all above
Wound of light in the enemy skies
Make things happen for me

On the eve of self destruction
On the eve of all can be...
Thinking about you...

"It is with unmistakable admiration that I think of Lady Kalysia these days and not help but recount some of the tales weaved around her name. One story of her past I consider now was during her younger life involved with the Mad King’s reign, before even I was born. For as her loyal ladies-in-waiting imply, she was offered by her noble family as a gift to their former Grace; she who became consort to his ordained heir, Prince Imrek. Such a union came to be insincerely and without Kalysia’s love for the affair, as Ailyrenai’s politics in that era served only to please the Mad King and those born from his loins. Nonetheless, Kalysia served Imrek well and was often seen by his side in court where his father reigned without contention.

For this, Kalysia was unexpectedly entangled in the arts of covertcy on behalf of the Servants of the Unseen. Her place beside Imrek gained her a better understanding of his father’s maddening presence and saw firsthand the hardhearted cruelty he showed to those who displeased him. It was at that time she befriended Lord Evaryr as her trusted confidant to the Unseen and without doubt Kalysia became what few would dare. She betrayed Imrek's trust and seduced him to pillow talk that revealed some of their kingdom’s darkest secrets and, above all, his father’s unspeakable plots that even Imrek was concerned of. Unfortunately, even he could not question his father’s will when it saw Kalysia’s life forfeit in the end.

Such was when Kalysia was marked for a traitor’s death by Imrek’s own hand. Still, when soldiers loyal to the crown stormed her former beloved’s chambers to take her into custody, it was a scene that would forever be shadowed by the Massacre of Yavirys, which happened on the same night. It was the very thing that bled her heart to despair; feeling it was her fault and willed to pay for it with her own blood. Yet when she was met alone on a palace balcony, where she stood sodden in her grief shared with the heavens, Kalysia turned to Imrek's guards with defiance.

She had a change of heart. Romantics feel she had done so out of love for Lord Evaryr, who she fought with hope to see again despite uncertainty for it. Others say she did so in spite of Prince Imrek’s control of her life and was possessed with a kind of madness that fear of her demise and for her loved ones drove her to. Yet whatever the case, Kalysia fought vainly for her freedom that night. Had she not, it is uncertain what fate would have befallen her, only that her choice to not give up saw her reunited with Evaryr and a relationship that is spoken well by all their kind.

-- A passage taken from the journal of high scholar, Renavel Daequis."

"Dismal Euphony - In Remembrance Of A Shroud

We who run from the presence of the sun
By the voived bitter gleam chasing darkness like a dream
All with weary tasks fordone 'scape the serpents tounge
All with weary tasks fordone 'scape the serpents tounge

To catch the shadow, let the substance fall
(in remembrance of a shroud)
Like the sun's bright beam entangled in melancholy
(in remembrance of a shroud)
Entangled in the black roars of an image's stream
(in remembrance of a shroud)
Of an-of an-of an image's stream
(in remembrance of a shroud)

Now i find hideousness in mind shall i disturb this hallowed house ?
I have been sent with dusk before to sweep the dust behind the door
I have been sent with dusk before to sweep the dust behind the door
Put the wretch that lies in woe in remembrance of a shroud
the match agreed - with flames admired"
