In fact, all of them were tense at seeing the new visitors. Chaska turned to Venta and Judith, Get the pups out of here now! Venta, Judith, RUN!. Both Toric and Cali had fear in their eyes at seeing everyone around them so upset and uptight. Venta gently and quickly grabbed Toric by the scruff of his neck and began to run, the trees overhead made flying near impossible and she definitely didnt want to let any humans see her in flight. Judith followed quickly with Cali dangling from her muzzle. They ran as fast as they could. Chaska let out a quick sigh of relief as he watched them vanish. In that instant Sczrythia ran up to them from the direction Venta and Jude were going. Her eyes met the Alphas and she spun and began to run after Venta and Judith, who didnt even slow down as they passed her. At least now their were three wolves to care for the pups. Turning to the oncoming humans, Chaska curled his lip in a snarl. Humans had once taken everything from him. He wasnt quite sure if he could follow Aris instructions to not fight them unless attacked first.
Ari didnt break his gaze into the distance. He could now see the shapes of dogs and humans as the pups and their caretakers ran to safety. He trusted them to take care of the pups and to hide them until this was all over. He squeezed his eyes shut for a brief moment, flexing the muscles in his legs and jaw. He was ready for a fight, but where was Shae? He should have looked for her earlier. What if they already found her while she was out alone? He shook his head; he couldnt worry about her right now. His eyes opened with a flash, as did his mouth. He let out a low growl. If they hurt Shae, or anyone, they would pay.
The dogs became clearer as they neared; their brown and white spots, marking them as hunting dogs, stood out against the greens and grays of the forest. They were panting from pure excitement of the hunt, as well as fatigue. Each one the waiting wolves could smell this and they could also sense that the humans were on foot. Ari found this to be interesting, usually humans were always on horseback when hunting wolves because of the danger the wolves could pose. It didnt matter, protecting the pack mattered; protecting his friends mattered.
Frostmorn then joined Ari, Chaska, and Crescenta. He sat and watched without speaking. He knew they would have to fight.
The Alpha began a sprint straight for the first dog approaching, he knew not to kill it, but to keep it from running and hurting another, or even from continuing on to find the pups if it got loose. He was followed by Chaska, Crescenta, and Lucas. Lucas wasnt pleased at all, he wasnt used to straight on combat and preferred to help out by using his power, though here, being drained from using his power could turn out badly. Besides, he had no time. Crescenta hoped that the humans would call back their dogs so that she wouldnt have to hurt them or their masters. They hadnt done anything and neather had the humans.
Split up, keep close and keep moving, if a human points a gun at you run in a zigzag through the trees, Ari snarled at the running wolves just before coming face to face with the leading dog. The dog lunged at the Alpha too early which allowed Ari to weave to the side of it; he grabbed a patch of white on its shoulder with his teeth, feeling a trickle of blood as he broke its flesh. The poor creature yelped and pulled away from Ari, tearing its shoulder more.
Shae was wandering alone. Walking by a creek she was fond of and dipping her white paws into the swirling water, she contemplated about her pack. They were all great wolves, yet she still loved her solitude. It was a good thing they were all so different and that escaping for an afternoon was a normal occurrence. She couldnt help but smile at the thought of Ari snapping at Toric and Toric glaring at Ari with his clear blue eyes. A yelp sounded; it was far off in the distance and it wasnt the cry from anyone in her pack as far as she could tell, yet it was close enough to where the pups usually played that it worried her. Instincts kicked in; she didnt even think as the ground began to disappear beneath her. The only feeling other than the pure concern for her pack that she felt rushing through her was the beating of her paws on the soft forest floor. She had to hurry.

When you wish upon a falling star, your dreams can come true. Unless it's really a meteorite hurtling to the Earth which will destroy all life. Then you're pretty much hosed no matter what you wish for. Unless it's death by meteor.
